There's a review over at Kikizo Games for Sony's highly anticipated game, SOCOM: US Navy Seals 2. Having been fortunate enough to be a part of the BETA program for SOCOM 2, I can already tell you, the game just plain kicks ass.
I am having trouble with the PS2 modem adaptor! Does this sound familiar to you? Well I just got hold of it about two weeks ago and I was very excited- being an NBA 2K3 fan and ready to play online. Turns out that I could not even get passed the ISP setup part. Which ISPs work? I have a dialup Compuserve 2000 connection and an MSN one, but yet I can not even get in. Please give me a list so I can get one that works!
Our friend, "The Stinger" sent in this review of Tribes™ Aerial Assault, a new network-playable game for the Playstation 2.
Check out these specs for Sony's upcoming game, ATV Offroad Fury 2. Why is this on MultiplayerGamers.com? Well, this game will be another scratch on the wall counting the awesome network-playable games for the Playstation 2. Personally, I can't wait to get my hands on this title.
We've added forums for two new Playstation 2 games, ATV Offroad Fury 2 and Tribes: Aerial Assault.
ATV Offroad Fury 2 isn't out yet, but there's already been a lot of discussion about the game. Personally, I can wait to get my hands on it.
Tribes: Aerial Assult was released earlier this week. I've only seen screenshots and forum posts about it. It sounds like a great game. Perhaps a fellow MG'er could review it for us.
We seem to be getting a huge following of Playstation 2 users coming in from Google and other search engines all looking for PS2 Network Adaptor information. So, we've created a general forum specifically for discussions of PS2 multiplayer games and hardware. We're looking forward to seeing some discussions!
Welcome all Playstation 2 network junkies! (of which Funar is a card-carrying member)
If you don't mind helping me, I'd really appreciate it.
Here's what I have:
DirecWay Satellite 2-way Broadband Internet Service, the modem is USB which connects to my main computer, I have a home network with a 5 port router (which can also act as a broadband router on the 5th port if necessary), my main computer serves as a host for Internet Connection Sharing through Windows 98SE to two other computers on the router.
This article is going to sound much like our article on SOCOM: US Navy Seals and firewalls . 989 Studio's NFL Gameday 2003 is another PS2 network-playable game that will require some of the same ports to be opened in order to play.
The game uses TCP ports 10070-10080 in the same manner that SOCOM does, but it also needs UDP ports 10070-10080 opened as well.
If you're using IP Masquerading (IPmasq), or Network Address Translation (NAT), there's a few ports you'll need to tell your firewall/proxy to forward on to your Playstation 2. SOCOM: US Navy Seals uses TCP ports 10070-10080 for game data, and VoiceChat. If these ports are not being forwarded to your PS2, connecting to a game will be a hit-or-miss battle and VoiceChat will not function at all.
